Kaltbrunn
The Kaltbrunner Ried is situated in the Linth plateau between Uznach and Benken and is a region of international significance.

Zürichsee
The region between the Walensee lake and Lake Zürich was often covered with water during the second half of the 18th century. The overfelling of the forest which took place led to flooding in the Linth plateau, eventually turning it into marshland.

Zürichsee
The Ufnau and Lützelau islands are situated at the upper end of Lake Zürich. The larger of the two, namely the Ufnau (its correct spelling being Ufnau and not Ufenau as it is commonly called) was placed under conservation along with the Frauenwinkel region in 1927, the owner and manager being the monastery of Einsiedeln.
