Erlengut estate, Erlenbach
The main building of the Erlengut estate dates back to 1770.
Influential textile entrepreneurs, as well as bankers and dentists resided there at the time.
By 1972, such households inhabited by people of high ranking had become a thing of the past and the owners offered to sell their portion of the estate to the town of Erlenbach.

This deal was approved at the general district meeting without any opposition whatsoever. In 1990, a referendum was made for the overall renovation of the Erlengut estate, the aim being to be able to put the estate to use in a more versatile fashion. in 1994, after having undergone careful planning and construction, the Erlengut estate was able to fulfill its new purpose. Today, the rooms are used for various concerts and exhibitions and can be rented for special events by companies and private individuals alike.
