Bergtrychlerwienacht
Every December Hirzel is home to the Bergtrychlerwienacht, a celebration featuring the “Trychlen”, a large bell.
The Trychlen is less well known in this region than in the areas with more emphasis on tradition.
Nonetheless, there are several customs in the three hillside towns that draw attention to the Trychlen, for example Schulsylvester in Hirzel or "Chrungeli & Haggeri" in Schönenberg and Hütten.

These age-old traditions have inspired a handful of young people from the region to form an official group of Trychler – those who ring the Trychlen - in the three towns.
Four different Trychler groups take part in a parade at the Bergtrychlerwienacht, which is followed by an authentic festival for everyone with Swiss country music and other performances. One can also enjoy oneself in the “Schnappshüttli” or in another bar.
